Okay, you have to "run" for the office of delegate and need to contact your state Committee members to determine how to do that effectively. Or, you can start with your local committee. Personnel may have changed recently, so you may also need to check with your local state representatives for more information if the local folks aren’t responding.
If you don’t want to run for that position, you can participate in alternate methods. Become a volunteer in the preparatory stages or during the event itself. Volunteers are expected to pay their way, but it can be one of the most exciting events of a lifetime.
If you are so fortunate to become a delegate, you might want to become involved as well. Typically, there are a limited number of committees including platforms (positions on policies), rules, and credentials. There are more than 8,000 participants expected at each convention. Obviously, this will take an extraordinary effort.
Each site presently has specific instructions for you to become involved at this juncture.
Tell your story: Let me know how you plan on getting involved and let us track your story as you go through your process; what your goals are, every step of the way and how you made out.
